The 1-oz gold bullion coin is by far the most important, accounting for over 80% of the total amount of gold used in the manufacture of ounce-denominated gold bullion coins. The Perth Mint (Australia) also issued 2-oz, 1 kg and 10 kg gold coins.

The gold purities of bullion coins are 99.99%, 99.9%, 91.67% or 90% pure gold.
